Shillong, March 05: The North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) is thrilled to announce the outstanding achievements of its students at the National Science Day Celebration 2024, organized by the State Council of Science Technology and Environment (SCSTE), Meghalaya.
Mr. Nituparna Das, an MSc student at NEHU, has secured the prestigious 1st prize in the research poster presentation category. Mr. Das presented his groundbreaking research work on “Self Chargeable Hydrogen Based Solid-State Cell,” which garnered recognition and praise from the esteemed panel of judges.
His innovative approach and dedication to scientific exploration have rightfully earned him the top honor along with a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 3000. Under the guidance of Associate Professor Satya Prakash Pati from the Department of Physics at NEHU, Mr. Nituparna Das has demonstrated exemplary research skills and a deep understanding of his subject matter.
In another remarkable feat, two MSc students, Mr. Pranjal Sharma and Mr. Nituparna Das, also supervised by Dr. Satya Prakash Pati, have clinched the 1st position in the Eastern Zone Contest of the Anveshan 2023 Program.
Their project titled “Development of Low Power Consumption Artificial Neuromorphic Devices by Using Proton as a Neurotransmitter” stood out in the interdisciplinary research category. As a result, they have earned the opportunity to represent NEHU at the international level competition, scheduled to be held at the University of Mumbai on March 10, 2024.
