Shillong, January 30: For the smooth filing of nomination, scrutiny, withdrawal and allotment of symbol during the ensuing General Election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly 2018, all Political Parties and Contesting Candidates are hereby instructed not to park their vehicles within the periphery of 100 meters of the office of Returning Officers or Assistant Returning Officers.
The maximum number of persons that will be allowed to enter the office of the Returning Officers or Assistant Returning Officers at the time of filing nomination shall be the Candidates plus four other individuals which may include any proposer(s) proposing the nomination of the Candidate.
The expenditure on the vehicles will be accounted to the Candidates during the time of filing nominations as the same will be accounted for calculating his or her expenditure if he remains in the fray. This was informed by the District Election Officer, East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat.
