Shillong, December 02: Today, a joint Civic Action Programme was organized by the South Garo Hills District Police along with the 120BN CRPF in backward area of Mitapgre under Chokpot Police station.
In this Joint action Civic programme free Medical Camp was held and distribution of free medicines to the people is the areas. Football Tournament was also held for Boys and Girls follow by the distribution of Sports goods and items and distribution of Food to all participants.
This joint Civic action programme was organized in order to bridge the gap between Police and Public and to take across the message that ‘we care for them’ and are here with only one agenda ‘to serve them’.
The programme was a great success with a participation of more than 1000 persons and local schools from Mitap, nearby and even Chokpot area. This type of programme will be organize much more in near future as an attempt to build positive and healthy Police-Public relationship.
