A suspected gun runner, Nangsem link to ULFA and GNLA arrested from Bolsong today

Tura, Jun 19: A suspected gun runner, Nangsem Marak 36 years with links with the banned United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) and the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) was arrested after an early morning raid in the village of Bolsong under Bajengdoba PS in North Garo Hills.

The police later recovered a huge cache of arms and bomb making equipment that the militant was hiding within his village at about 2 am this morning. Based on information from sources, a joint police and Army team raided the house of Nanseng and recovered 1 AK, 2 country made pistols along with 3 shotguns. 56 AK ammunitions were also recovered from his possession along with bomb making materials.

“We believe he was a civilian cadre of the ULFA and GNLA and was keeping arms for them. A case in the regard has been registered against the accused,” said district police Dalton Marak. State Govt signs MoU with SBI for online receipts of Government Dues as well as online payments.
