Shillong, April 15: The BSF On 14th April 2025, vigilant troops of the BSF Meghalaya, deployed along the International Border, thwarted a smuggling attempt by seizing bottles of Phensedyl — a banned cough syrup intended for smuggling into Bangladesh.
Acting on specific intelligence, alert troops of the 22nd Battalion BSF conducted an operation and recovered 1,730 bottles of Phensedyl that had been concealed near the International Border with the intention of being smuggled into Bangladesh. The seized Phensedyl bottles were handed over to the concerned police station for further action.
In another Intelligence based operation, troops of the 04th Battalion BSF deployed in the Dawki apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals attempting to infiltrate into Indian territory.
During preliminary questioning, the individuals revealed their identities as: Faruk Ahmed 37 years, resident of Mymensingh district, Md Samim 49 years, resident of Dhaka district, Md Sushu Miya 39, resident of Chandpur district, Bangladesh.
The apprehended individuals were handed over to Dawki Police Station for further legal action. BSF Meghalaya maintains strict surveillance and has intensified border patrolling along the Indo-Bangladesh border to prevent illicit activities and ensure zero tolerance against infiltration.
