Shillong, April 11: Acting on specific information, vigilant troops of BSF Meghalaya apprehended two Indian national along with a vehicle loaded with contraband items. During the initial inquiry, the driver and co-driver were unable to produce any valid documents related to the consignment.
Accordingly, BSF personnel apprehended the individuals and seized both the vehicle and the contraband. The apprehended individuals, along with the seized items were handed over to Police Post Umkiang for further legal action.
In a separate operation, BSF troops foiled an attempt to smuggle cattle by rescuing 23 cattle that were concealed in Jungle area near the International Border.
These cattle were transported by road to the border area with the intention of smuggling them into Bangladesh. The BSF remains steadfast in its commitment to securing the nation’s borders and preventing all forms of illegal activity.
