Shillong, August 31: The night super bus that was travelling from Silchar, Assam and was on the way to Guwahati from Sumer Village in Ri Bhoi district on Thursday morning at around 4.14 am when this accident happened where 11 persons sustained injuries including a 9-month old female baby.
The night super bearing registration number AS01 FC 2185 which was coming from Silchar, Assam and was on the way to Guwahati when this accident happened.
It was informed that this bus was travelling to Guwahati through NH-6 Shillong-Guwahati highway but on reaching Sumer, in a turning, this bus jumped over the road divider on to the other opposite lane due to over speeding and hit the side barricade and then overturned.
This bus carries a full capacity of passengers who were supposed to travel to Guwahati. 11 passengers sustained injuries including a 9-month old female baby.
The injured people have been identified as Mohammad Shahir 25 Male, Somibul Sheikh 32 Male, Sabu Ali 21 Male, Rinia 19 Female, Baby of Rinia 9 Months Female, Babu Sheikh 38 Male, Mohhamad Alif Khan 15 Male, Rofiqul Islam 28 Male, Harmat Ali 17 Male, Robin Islam 22 Male and Mohammad Saphikul Islam 20 Male.
All the 11 injured victims were shifted to Umsning CHC, Civil Hospital Shillong and to Guwahati for treatment.
