Railway Protection Force rescued 09 minors and a lady Apprehended toutinvolved

Maligaon, April 23: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of N. F. Railway successfully rescued 09 minors and a lady during the ongoing checking on17th & 18th April, 2023 at different trains and railway stations over N. F. Railway. RPF also apprehended 01(one) tout during this period who was involved in illegal selling of railway tickets.

On 17th & 18th April, 2023, drives were conducted at different locations in Katihar, Guwahati, Dimapur, Kamakhya, Kishanganj and New Tinsukia stations.

During the drive RPF of NFR managed to rescue 09 runaway minors (06 girls/03 boys) and 01 runaway lady. All the rescued minors and lady were later handed over to the respective child line as per norms for safe custody and family members after proper verification.

In another incident on 17th April, 2023, information was received regarding touting activities by one shop namely, “Saimul Common Service Centre” located at Chandpur, Dist. Malda (West Bengal). RPF team of Barsoi conducted a raid and search in the said shop.

During raid, they recovered 06 railway e-tickets worth Rs. 14,868/- (approx), which were generated by using personal user IDs. The owner of the shop Saimul Hoque could not give any satisfactory reply regarding the recovered e-tickets. Later, the person was taken into custody and a case was registered under section 143 of the Railway Act.

Railway Protection Force (RPF)keep a close watch on touting activitywithinits jurisdiction.It also remains vigilant for suspected persons involved in human trafficking as well as the movement of children in a suspicious manner, travelling alone, without proper guardian etc.
