Shillong, February 03: Lajong are coming into this game after a 2-0 win over Chennai City FC on Tuesday. Aser Dipanda Dicka scored a brace in the match and gave the Reds their third home win. He has taken his goal tally to five goals from six games and is also the joint top goal scorer in the league.
Shillong Lajong FC are currently in the 5th position in the I-League standings with 9 points from 6 matches played. The last time Lajong won 3 consecutive home games in an I-League season was in 2013-14 – defeated Salgaocar 2-1 on 6 Dec 2013, Dempo 2-1 on 21 Dec 2013 and Bengaluru 3-0 on 23 Mar 2014.
After Lajong registered their third win in the I-League 2016-17 Season, Coach Thangboi Singto said in the post match press conference that, “Winning is good but keeping a clean sheet is even better. Credit goes to the team for working exceptionally hard and they really defended well as a team.”
