ADC in Meghalaya to constitute constitutional expert committee to study the AD Rule

From left to right, The CEM of the GHADC Mr Denang T Sangma, KHADC CEM, PN Syiem and Dy CEM Mr Augustin Marak.Shillong, February 03: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) today calls the meeting of the three, Autonomous District Council of Meghalaya, including the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) and the Jiantia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) in Shillong.

The meeting discuss on the rule 128 of the Assam and Meghalaya Autonomous District (constitution of the District Council Rule) 1951 as amended. The meeting has discussed at length on the issued and they decided that the Autonomous Council will constitute the Constitutional expert Committee to study on this rule and submit the report to the concern Autonomous Council.

Speaking to media person after the meeting, the CEM of the KHADC who chair the meeting said that after getting the report from the constitutional expert views the meeting will be call and they will again this discuss before taking any final decision on the 128 rule of the  Assam and Meghalaya Autonomous District (constitution of the District Council Rule) 1951 as amended.

The meeting was attended by the CEM of the GHADC Mr Denang T Sangma and the Dy CEM Mr Augustin Marak along with the officers, the meeting was chair by the CEM of the KHADC Mr PN Syiem along with the MDCs from the KHADC, and the CEM of the JHADC abstain from the meeting. The Secretary of the Executive Committee in the KHADC said that the JHADC has inform that they won’t be able to attend this meeting since they have others meeting.
