Shillong, March 26: The BSF troops deployed at Dulainala in South West Khasi Hills distt of Meghalaya apprehended two Bangladeshi liquor smugglers on international border while they were trying to exfiltrate from India to Bangladesh. The apprehended persons identified as Am]ir Hossain from village Chinoura, Bangladesh.
During frisking 12 Bottles of Liquor and 01 Mobile along with 01 Bangladeshi SIM recovered from their possession. They revealed before BSF that duo had crossed the International Boundary on 25th March 2017 at about 3 pm and purchased liquor from Village Naukariyanala under Dangar police station of East Khasi Hills District.
The liquor is banned in Bangladesh thus it fetches heavy profit there after being smuggled. The BSF has intensified its extra vigil along International Border keeping in view of liquor smuggling. The Border Security Force has intensified its operations on the Indo-Bangladesh Border to prevent such illegal transporting of liquor along International Border in Meghalaya.
In another incident, BSF troops deployed at Killapara, West Garo Hills district, of Meghalaya, apprehended one Indian national namely Abdul Hai resident of Village Behrbheribeel, Dhula police station Darang District of Assam while he was trying to exfiltrate from India to Bangladesh. During search party recovered 01 Mobile and Indian Currency Rs. 5500/-.
