The BSF troops seized 114 numbers of Cattle from the bordering area of Beldova

Shillong, October 12: The BSF troops seized 114 numbers of Cattle from the bordering area of Beldova in South West Garo Hills District of Meghalaya while being smuggled into Bangladesh from India.  A BSF Special patrolling party while dominating the area observed a suspicious movement of few persons along with cattle.

They immediately cordoned the area however the suspected miscreants fled by taking advantage of dense forest & thick vegetation. A thorough search was carried out and recovered a considerable numbers of cattle.

Recently smugglers have increased their activity in the bordering areas of SWGH along the unfenced patches of Indo-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya. But alert BSF troops keep constant vigil and conduct special operation in these areas to check menace of smuggling of cattle.

It is mentioned that  the cattle seized are small in size still there are being smuggled to Bangladesh where they are fed with cow fattening drugs, Moreover small cattle are easier to cross from hum pipes even through fence.

Due to strict vigilance by the BSF troops smugglers finding it difficult to cross the animals to Bangladesh. The cattle demand in Bangladesh thus increasing manifolds. The cattle smugglers are still applying several tactics to smuggle for want of hefty profit. The BSF has been achieving a great success in countering the cattle smuggling and apprehension of smugglers.

However, the BSF is keeping a strict vigil to foil such illegal activities. All the seized cattle handed over to concern department for further legal action.
