Shillong, March 26: The District Disaster Management Authority, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force, Guwahati will conduct ‘Demonstration on Earthquake’ on 27th March, 2019 at Pantaloons Mall and Assam Auto Agency in Shillong and also at St. Francis Higher Secondary School, Smit.
The aim of the demonstration is to usher in coordination of the various response agencies during a disaster. The demonstration will be conducted from 11:00 AM onwards and will be participated by NDRF, SDRF, Fire and Emergency Service, DM&HO, Police Department, Bethany Hospital at Pantaloons Mall, while students and teachers of St. Francis Higher Secondary School, Smit will be participating along with a team from Smit PHC and Office of the Block Development Officer, Mawryngkneng.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner & CEO (DDMA), East Khasi Hills District said that the information is given so as to avoid confusion and panic among the general public.
