Shillong, March 28: The DDMA, East Khasi Hills District has conducted a demonstration on “Earthquake” jointly with the NDRF, Guwahati today at two locations i.e. at Pantaloons Mall, Shillong and at St Francis Secondary School, Smit. The demonstration at Pantaloons Mall, Shillong was also participated by SDRF, Fire and Emergency Services, Police Personnel, MPRO, DM & HO, GVK, EMRI, Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations, East Khasi Hills, Bethany Hospital Shillong along with the 35 staff of Pantaloons Mall and 25 students of Kamala Nehru Secondary School, Shillong.
The demonstration at St. Francis Secondary School Smit was participated by 400 students of St Francis School along with Medical Team from PHC, Smit and staff from the Office of the Block Development Officer, Mawryngkneng C&RD Block.
The aim of the demonstration is to ensure proper coordination amongst the various response agencies and also for the awareness of the general public. The District Emergency Operation Centre was fully functional and a de-briefing was conducted at Pantaloons in which the various participating agencies gave their feedback on the demonstration.
