Shillong, April 25: The employees of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) will hold it election to elect it office bearers, the president and the General Secretary on Thursday for the term of two years.
For the post of the president there are two candidates who will contest and for the post of the general secretary there are three candidates and or the others organizational post so far no one has file their nomination.
The total employees in the GHADC are more than 1600 employees this are the regular employees and with the adhoc employees it would be more than 2000 sources said. The purposed of holding this election is make the union more effective.
The Deputy Commissioner of South West GaroHills who is take charge of the GHADC since it was under administrator rule speaking to SP News Agency , Mr CVD Diengdoh said that he has knowledge about it he has to check from the office.
