Shillong, January 28: The Governor of Assam, Shri Banwarilal Purohit being administered the oath of office as the Governor of Meghalaya by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, Chief Justice, High Court of Meghalaya, at Raj Bhavan, Shillong on 28th January, 2017.
The Governor Incharge take oath in the name of God, the warrant of appointment from the President of India was read by the Chief Secretary Mr KS Kropha and the Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, Chief Justice, High Court of Meghalaya administered the oath of office.
From the government who were present, are the Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul Sangma, Deputy Chief Minister, Prof. R. C. Laloo, Home Minister, Shri H.D.R. Lyngdoh, Health and Family Welfare Minister, Smti Roshan Warjri, Smti Bluebell Sangma MLA, Chief Secretary, Shri K.S. Kropha and senior government officials attended the swearing in ceremony.
