Shillong, May 05: The Director State Disaster Management Authority of the Meghalaya had received the preliminary report from the District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMA) that caused by the Cyclone Fani that hit the state of Meghalaya on Saturday the 04/May /2019.
As per the preliminary report issued from the DSDMA said that, the cyclone Fani has affected 21 villages in the whole state of Meghalaya, damages 17 houses, affected 14 people and injured one person, as reported till late on Saturday night.
The damages that caused in this cyclone Fani is due to heavy rain, cyclone, the most affected district is East Khasi Hills District with 12 villages, 5 villages of South West Khasi Hills District, 2 villages in West Khasi Hills District, East Jaintia Hills, Ri Bhoi and South Garo Hills District with one village each were affected.
The DSDMA said that 14 people were affected during the cyclone Fani, 9 in West Khasi Hills District and 5 in East Jaintia Hills District, one injured in East Khasi Hills and so far there is no report lost of human life. Smti I. Mawlong Executive Director said that the detail report is yet to be submitted by the District Disaster Management Authorities.
