Ampati, January 29: The Union Minister for Textiles, Smriti Zubin Irani and Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma will jointly inaugurate the first ever Apparel & Garment Making Centre in the State at Hatisil, Ampati in South West Garo Hills on Monday, January 30, 2017.
Several dignitaries from Central and State governments are likely to attend the inaugural function which will be held at 10.00 am.
It may be mentioned that the foundation stone for setting up this Apparel & Garment Centre under North East Region Textiles Promotion Scheme (NERTPS), was laid by the Chief Minister in the presence of the then Union Minister of State for Textiles, Santosh Kumar Gangwar on May 22, 2015.
