Tura, August 24: The Garo Student Union along with others pressure group from Garo Hills today has protest against the adamant attitude of the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) by protesting in the form of sit in demonstration in front of the MeECL office at Nagalbibra in East Garo Hills District.
The demand of the pressure group from Garo Hills from the MeECL is for immediate restoration of the power station of Nangalbibra in East Garo Hills where people are facing a lot in power cut. The pressure group has taken this step by protesting in front of the MeECL, to make the people who are in the helm of affair understand their demand to restore this power station.
The president of the GSU Mr Tengsak Momin, speaking to SP News Agency said “ We have no more alternative, to make the government listen to their demand to restore the Nangalbira power station, by adopting this sit in demonstration for two day in front of the office of the MeECL which is located at Nangalbibra.
